The 20kV transformer station serving the Pukinmäki area has been designed for the Helsingin Energia energy company. The station is located near the Pukinmäki park, a school and a residential area.

The building consists of two transformer bunkers and a lower electricity station building, forcefully expressing their restraint shape by using a single facade material. Visually the buildings are intended to be perceived as infrastructure.

The facades of the transformer boxes are clad in vertically overlapping solid corten steel sheets, while the electricity station is clad in black brick. The red colour of the corroded steel relates the building to its surroundings, in which red brick is the predominant material.
