ESPOO HOSPITAL

This design for a hospital in the city of Espoo (Finland) won first prize in an international architecture competition in 2008.

The building consists of a number of free-form units in which rooms are arranged around internal courtyards. The rooms face the outside of the building, while the space around the inner gardens functions both as circulation space and common living space.

After the competition phase, design work on the building will continue. The preliminary date of completion is scheduled for 2014.
